Florence and Tuscany

Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is a university town, part of the UNESCO world heritage plan and where The Renaissance and the Italian language were born.
Its monuments and museums attract visitors from all over the world all year round: The Duomo, Santa Croce, Palazzo Pitti, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, Galleria degli Uffizi and The Bargello Museum are but a few of the city’s incredible attractions.
The city can be seen and enjoyed from the top of the Duomo or Piazzale Michelangelo.
Simply walking around the city can be enough to enjoy the city’s cultural riches and incredible history.
Florence also offers a wide variety of shops: from the artisans’ workshops to the typical street markets in San Lorenzo. Via Tornabuoni hosts some of the most famous and elegant shops in the world. The pleasure of a shopping trip can be completed by enjoying a delicious meal in one of the city’s most renowned restaurants or cafès such as the Giubbe Rosse or Paszkowski in Piazza della Repubblica.
Florence is the regional capital and offers typical Tuscan culinary delights such as : tripe ; lampredotto ; Florentine T- bone steak; cantuccini biscuits and an extraordinary range of local wines.
Florence is in the centre of Tuscany and so it is easy to reach other Tuscan cities from here such as : Pisa; Lucca; Siena; Arezzo; Cortona; Volterra; San Gimignano and the Chianti hills.
The cultural and artistic history Florence boasts is accompanied by extreme natural beauty: the Versilia and Maremma coastlines are truly breathtaking as are the Siena hills and Apuane hills . This combination of culture and nature make Tuscany a perfect place to visit.
